Sermon Notes and Nuggets

  • Demonstration = the action or process of showing the existence or truth of something by giving proof or evidence.
  • After Jesus had commissioned the disciples, Jesus was received up into heaven; sat at the right hand of God.
    • sat = work on earth is completed.
    • right hand of God = Jesus is the Son of the one and only true and living God; right hand represents power.
  • Four reasons why Jesus had to leave:
    1. He had to leave to prepare a place for us.
    2. He had to leave so that the Holy Ghost could come.
      • John 16:7 – it was to our advantage that He left. He sent the Holy Ghost.
        • Comforter = helper; paraclete.
    3. He had to leave so He could make intercession for us while we are right here on earth.
      • Romans 8:34
      • The Holy Ghost (our intercessor here on earth) + Jesus (praying for us in heaven) = FULL COVERAGE
    4. He had to leave so He could give gifts to men.
  • The disciples had to learn to put their confidence in the power of God and not the physical presence of Jesus.
  • Your strength lies where your faith is.
  • 1 Corinthians 3:9
  • If we do what God wants us to do and do His will; He will work with us.
    • When He initiates a move, we need to work with Him. He is working with you and you are working with Him.
  • Signs are supposed to follow after the believer.
